Presentation on New Camellia Hybrids at Massee Lane Gardens

Educational presentations concentrate on a variety of camellia topics during the Festival of Camellias. The final educational presentation will introduce new camellia hybrids currently under development.

 

Loch Laurel Nursery owner and noted camellia breeder, Mark Crawford of Valdosta, Georgia, will describe the breeding programs which use two different species to create camellias with unusual colors--such as yellow--as well as varieties that have desirable characteristics such as summer blooming, repeat blooming, or cold hardiness, scent and sun tolerance.
