Georgia boasts the second-highest growth rate of women-owned businesses in the country. Our state is home to 522,200 women-owned firms employing 283,100 people and contributing roughly $56 billion to the economy. But despite the growth, trouble looms when it comes to women-owned companies’ ability to generate revenues and access startup capital. Women fall behind their male counterparts when it comes to generating revenues, limiting the potential of women entrepreneurs to expand and create new jobs.
 
Entrepreneurship is a powerful way for women to build wealth. This event will feature the release of new data and recommendations to strengthen the entrepreneurship landscape for women in Georgia and bolster economic opportunity to help close the state’s gender wealth divide.
