Kids of Deployed Learn Horseback RidingView All News"Mine is back in eleven weeks, how about you?" one young mom asked another. "Twelve. It seems like forever." Such was the tone of conversation between parents who came out with their kids for some free horseback riding lessons early Saturday, July 10th. By lunch, smiles and a lot of kids inspired to learn more about horses kept the mood a little brighter.
Sponsored by the Peach County Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee under the leadership of Peach MAC Chairman James Coar and with the generosity of Ms. Pat Partridge offering free riding lessons at her Fort Valley Ranch, Saturday's young equestrians learning event gave kids of deployed or deploying middle Georgia military families a chance to do some real life horsin' around. It also afforded moms and dads some time to stop watching the clock while their significant other is away from home fighting for our nation. Some of the attendees themselves will be deploying in the next week or so. Many special thanks to the volunteers of the Peach County Military Affairs Committee who came out Saturday morning to help with the day's diversion. Peach County Chamber MAC plans another event from 9am-Noon on Saturday, July 24th. See pictures from the day in our photo gallery here on www.peachchamber.com>Home>Community>Photo Gallery.
