The Chamber of Commerce is a 501 (c)(6) Non Profit, Public Benefit Corporation. Fed. Tax I.D. #xx-xxxxxxx. A percentage of your Chamber investment amount is deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. Contributions and gifts are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. The Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993 prohibits you from deducting, for federal income tax purposes, the portion of your membership investments, which is allocable to the lobbying activities of this organization. Membership is continuous until a written resignation is submitted to the Board of Directors. Membership plaques are the property of the Chamber and must be returned if your membership is cancelled for any reason.
