The Peach Regional Chamber of Commerce places a great deal of emphasis on economic development to ensure that our area will continue to diversify and prosper in the future. Continued success in attracting new businesses and industries supports the expansion of existing businesses and enhances the lives of the county's residents.
We work with development organizations in Fort Valley and Byron to recruit new manufacturing, distribution, assembly and related industrial facilities to Peach County and the surrounding area. We also strive to attract national and regional corporate headquarters, customer service centers, retail investments and hospitality ventures.
While recruitment of new industry is a significant function, aiding in existing industry expansion and retention is just as significant. About 80 percent of new jobs come as a result of existing industry expansion.
Thanks to our status as the Peach Capitol of Georgia, and our thriving pecan industry, agribusiness remains strong here and our goal is to help recruit allied industries to manufacture and distribute related products throughout Georgia, the nation and across the world.
Peach County has established itself as an industry-friendly community with its successful agricultural, manufacturing, service and distribution businesses. New employers can easily gain access to Peach County's low cost, reliable utilities, existing transportation, well-educated and skilled labor force, comprehensive job training and its prime location near the geographical center of the state. Peach County is an ideal place for business.
Peach County's diverse population includes well-educated individuals who are ready to contribute to the development and success of the area's business and industrial enterprises. In conjunction with Central Georgia Technical College, Peach County offers a Quick Start training which trains employees to be more productive, saving time and expense. This combined with Fort Valley State University's goal to assist Peach County in securing new businesses helps prime the Middle Georgia area and beyond for businesses as well as workforce development!
Additionally, construction has begun on the new Work Force Development Center located in the middle of our South Peach Industrial Park here in Peach County, Georgia! This new facility will be a central hub for a variety of programs to include the special CDL Drivers training courses offered by Central Georgia Technical College along with other study options. This location will also house the offices of the Development Authority of Peach County. We are excited to be a part of this asset to the community.
